Scott,
Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your show today – Wed. (Dec. 5) on XM Radio Hanukkah. Looking forward to the shows the rest of the week…

Dear Scott,
Your program this week on XM radio was exceptional!!! It was informative and had a great mix of music… How do we get XM radio to "do Jewish" on a more regular basis? And do you have a play list of the music you played, especially the two Wednesday night programs?
Thanks so much,
Debbie B., New York
Scott,
Been listening to your show all week on XM108 and I just wanted to let you know that I think it is fantastic. I have learned so much about the influence of Judaism on artist's that I never had a clue were Jewish. The story about the Hooters in Germany was particularly amazing. I've been a big fan of Guster for the past few years and loved the story about the shofar.
I'm going to have to go out and buy your book now because I'd love to hear even more great stories. Thanks again for an amazing series of shows and I look forward to reading your book.

I have to say that I do everything to not miss Scott Benarde's show Stars of David. The music is fantastic and the stories are even better. I learned so much tonight about one of my favorite recent bands, Guster, and about influences on some old favorites including the Eagles and Tom Petty. The Hooters became popular while I was in high school, and I had no idea that Judaism played such an important role in their lives. The story from a few nights ago of them playing in Germany was fantastic. Thanks so much again for doing this.

XMites,
I've thoroughly enjoyed the Radio Hanukkah programming this year, as well as last year. In particular, I really looked forward to Scott Benarde's show "Stars of David" every afternoon at 3 (I'm on the West Coast). Thanks for bringing us this wonderful change of pace for the holiday season...

I am not technically Jewish but, wow, do I like this station. For me this Christmas season it is Classical Christmas and Radio Hanukkah. Praise the Lord. Good Job!
One more comment (re: Stars of David); in 1979 I was living in Indianapolis and my female room partner ran into the guitarist for Pheobe Snow and he invited us to see her show the next night. She graciously let us in to speak to her after the show and was so charming…The performance was absolutely amazing. I did not know about her child and dedication to raising her.
Shalom my friend and thanks for making my
Christmas season brighter.

Shalom Chaverai,
B'emet todah rabah--thank you so very much for this amazing gift. We've loved every minute we've been able to listen…with [Radio Hanukkah] signing off, it feels as if we're losing a family member. The greatest gift you've given is that you've created a positive, wonderful connection for the Jewish community, a grand celebration of Jewish culture and faith. There was plenty of humor but for once, Judaism wasn't a joke. Please don't wait till next year---we need this reassurance throughout the year. What a great mix---everything from great hazzanut to Rick Recht, Western Wind, Dag Hanahash, comedians and Stars of David.
May you all be blessed with close family, good friends, good health and boundless creativity so that we can join you next year, if not sooner.

Hi-
We were so happy that Radio Hanukkah was back for a second year as we
listened every night in 2006! It really brings the holiday to life and we
couldn't stop listening the entire time. Some of our favorites from 2007 included “Jews in Time” and “Stars of David” (Jewish songwriters and their covers--the story behind the song What If God Was One Of Us was really neat--as well as the Bangles story behind the song Eternal Flame)…We also enjoyed "Jesus Was a Dreidel Spinner" by Jill Sobule and anything by Barenaked Ladies. We are counting the days until Radio Hanukkah returns and we share the viewpoint of many people that called in that we wish it was a regular station on XM year round.
Thanks for another great year.
