It is my pleasure to provide a letter of recommendation for author Scott Benarde, who addressed supporters of the Jewish Federation of Greater Albuquerque at a special event titled “Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Jewish Stories” on Feb. 25, 2006.

Having greatly enjoyed his book Stars of David: Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Jewish Stories, members of our event committee were delighted to have the opportunity to invite Scott to Albuquerque. Although we certainly expected an informative evening based on our familiarity with Scott’s writing, we were delighted by the unexpected depth, drama and professionalism of his outstanding presentation.

Scott had the attendees absolutely captivated with his tales of Jewish “rock and rollers” and made his talk not only vastly educational, but humorous and deeply personal as well. Moreover, I found Scott to be a delight to work with: wonderfully personable and highly sensitive to the goals of our fundraising event.
